5.1 Mobile Learning

Assignment 5.1:  Mobile Learning

1.  Evernote

Evernote displays the cognitive, affective, and the psychomotor domains of learning by allowing users to perform note taking, create to-do lists, and save interesting pages and articles that they find while surfing the web.
                     


Evernote seems to be a very easy app to organize a busy life!  You can take notes on the go, save snapshots and videos with ease, and also save webpages for future reading!  Evernote allows you to sync information from your smartphone, tablet, and desktop apps, so that you can easily access your saved media from virtually anywhere.  You can type or write notes, draw pictures, and even capture photos.

2.  Animoto


Animoto displays the cognitive, affective, and the psychomotor domains of learning by allowing users create presentations and slideshows that showcase important occasions, dates and times.

Animoto is free to download, but you can only create videos and slideshows that are less than 30 seconds in length; although you do have the option to upgrade your account and pay a membership fee which will increase your options-including the ability to create longer videos.  This app was VERY easy to use and create a slide show!  You select the template for your video, select a song that fits, then select up to 20 images and videos right from your phone or desktop!  I created two Animoto video in less than a minute for each video!   

3.  Duolingo


Duolingo displays the cognitive, affective, and the psychomotor domains of learning by allowing users to interactively learn a new language.

      

Duolingo allows users to learn English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Irish, Danish, Swedish, Russian, Ukrainian, Esperanto, Polish and Turkish all for free!  This app was extremely easy to use!  At first opening, the app will allow you to choose the desired language to learn.  Then you can take a skills test to determine if you should start with the basics, or if there are areas that you can skip if you already have a background in the language.

4.   Khan Academy


Khan Academy displays the cognitive, affective, and the psychomotor domains of learning by offering free online courses in a multitude of subject areas.

      


Khan Academy is a free educational website that allows users to learn about a plethora of topics at any grade level.  To begin, just choose a subject, then choose a subtopic.  There will be a multitude of videos and lessons pertaining to the subject and subtopics.
